Typically, teams in the top-5 of the BES rankings have one glaring strength and an opposing weakness. But that just isn’t so for the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0) who placed third overall in the Week 2 BES Rankings with a monstrous score of 3.41.
Unlike the Broncos (2-0) who own the No. 1 BES Defense (3.55) but rank 23rd in BES Offense (2.26) or the Patriots (2-0) who are No. 2 on offense (3.27) and 17th in defense (2.44), the Bengals are top-5 in both categories.
Owning the No. 1 BES Offense (3.29) and No. 4 BES Defense (2.87), the Bengals are clearly more balanced than any of their co-inhabitants in the top-5 BES Overall.
That bodes well for the Bengals who are currently first place in the AFC North and on another quest for a postseason berth. However, their schedule up until now has been devoid of divisional combatants.
In Week 1 they obliterated the Raiders (1-1) 33-13 and followed that with a 24-19 disposal of the Chargers in Week 2.
Nevertheless, that will change in Week 3 when they visit the division rival Ravens (0-2) who are 24th in BES Overall and offer a score of 2.17. A road victory over the Ravens could solidify Bengals’ place among the BES’ elite squads.
A loss, on the other hand, would send them plummeting back down to earth and offer a sobering reminder of how, despite the numbers, it’s still too early to separate contenders from pretenders.
Chiefs can do this
The Chiefs need to lock up Aj Green can’t let him go off if they can do that they will have a good shot as long as we can solve some of our offensive issues
With Sean Smith back we can anchor that defense to its premiere beast form. Make some touchdown interceptions to help fuel Charles so Alex does not run scared and gets his confidence back.
Another hard to watch game
the way they are playing and being coached anyone is a tough draw for the The Kansas City Chiefs
Michael Wayne Allen – I agree on Sean Smith. Whoever has been opposite Marcus Peters has been the only weakness in the Chiefs defense. That ends with Smith back. – Dez
The 3 teams the Bengals have played are all mediocre.
