Raiders quarterback Derek Carr (#4) and halfback Latavius Murray (#28) spearhead an offense instrumental in the Raiders seizing the top spot in BES Overall this week.

Week 13 BES Rankings

The BES was 11-4 (.733)  in Week 13 predicting straight-up winners based on our Week 12 Report. That brings our combined tally from the last three weeks to 33-12 (.733), an impressive mark as the postseason draws near.

This week we crown a new No. 1 team in BES Overall. The Raiders (10-2), with their impressive come-from-behind  win over the Bills (6-6) in Week 13, managed to leapfrog the Patriots (10-2) and Cowboys (11-1) for claim to the top spot in our rankings. Currently enjoying a six-game winning streak, the Raiders No.2 BES Offense is complimented by a steadily improving defense that has earned a ninth-place ranking in the BES this week.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford

Week 14 offers the Raiders an opportunity to extend their streak to seven games when they travel to face the Chiefs (9-3) in a rematch of their Week 6 battle in which the Chiefs defeated the Raiders 26-10. The second game could decide the eventual AFC West Champion as well as the top seed in conference.

The Lions (8-4)  made a surprising debut in the BES Top-10 in our Week 9 rankings with a record of 5-4. They have since won three straight games, further legitimizing their No. 4 ranking in BES Overall.

Despite the lack of a running game (the team ranks 29th in rushing), Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has guided the team to seven wins in their last eight games, throwing for a remarkable 14 touchdowns and only one interception in that span.

The Lions own a two-game lead on the rest of the NFC North but it is a gap that could potentially shrink when they go on the road to face the Giants (8-4) in Week 15 and the Cowboys in Week (16).

  1. I think we had a game earlier this season with weather that was all about the run game…anyone remember how that one ended?

  2. The Steelers should have moved back into the top 10

  3. Chiefs are better ranked team like No. 4

  4. 27 23 chiefs Carr will throw a couple picks

  5. This game will come down to whoever forces and recovers more fumbles. It’s gonna be hard to hold onto the ball. Advantage chiefs!

  6. Frank OMara – I just feed the data into the system….the system spits out results. The BES has been 73% accurate over the last three weeks. We will see if the Chiefs land in that other 27% with a win tonight.

I personally like their chances with everyone healthy and playing at home. Big game! Playoff level intensity surrounding this one! – Dez
