After a 33-20 road victory over the Bengals (10-3), the Steelers (8-5) move into the No. 8 spot this week, rising from their No. 15 perch in our Week 13 rankings. The Steelers were among the initial BES Top-10 from Week 2 and are blazing hot at the moment with an offense ranked fourth by the BES.

Also making a return to the BES Top-10 are the Jets (8-5) at No. 10 after going 4-2 in their last six games including a current streak of three victories. Presently, the Jets hold the sixth seed in the AFC playoff race but are threatened by the Steelers. Of the two teams, the Jets have arguably the more difficult remaining schedule, hosting the Patriots (No. 7) and visiting the Bills ( No. 15) in Weeks 16 and 17 respectively.
The Chiefs (8-5) stretch their hold on the No. 1 spot in BES Overall to a third week after an ugly 10-3 win over the Chargers (3-10). They remain impressive on both sides of the ball, ranking second in both BES Offense and BES Defense. Their Ball Security (3.51) and Takeaways (3.37) scores lead all teams and depict what has fueled their streak to this point.
The Panthers (13-0) are significantly closing the momentum gap between themselves and the Chiefs with a score of 3.54. The truly remarkable aspect of the Panthers is they are growing even stronger as we near January, evidenced by their No. 1 ranking in both BES Offense and BES Defense as well as by the +3.00 marks they’ve registered in every BES Overall category. They are the only team to have achieved such a feat in the BES this season.
